The Frogloks (yes, they are called Frogloks, not Guktans as the title of this page would indicate) are a playable race in EverQuest. They have appeared as NPC's since the original game was released, appearing as monsters in the dungeons of Guk, and as slaves in Grobb, and later Cabilis. In the Legacy of Y'Kesha expansion pack, the Frogloks, now a sentient, more frog-like species, became playable, and took over the Troll city of Grobb (did not this single act of violence prove that they were evil little bastards?), turning it into Gukta (the Trolls relocated to the Dark Elf city of Neriak.)
In The Great War for Troll Freedom in the summer of 2005, the Trolls, with help from the kindly Dark Elves and Ogres, eventually retook their ancestral homeland, Grobb. The cowardly Frogloks fled to the Rathe Mountains to lick their wounds. There they created a small camp, which became the New Gukta. They seem quite happy in their shanty town, despite the obvious lack of swampland or other water in the immediate vicinity.
Appearance[]
The Frogloks are semi-humanoid frogs who stand in a squat stance. They are similar in size to humans but their heads are very wide (almost toad-like). They have thin torsos where their hips are (likely due to lack of meaningful genitals, but the upper torso is very wide. Their feet have only three toes, which limits their counting abilities substantially.
Despite their grotesque appearance, frogloks are actually quite delicious, especially their legs.
Player Status[]
The Frogloks have Ultravision and are excellent swimmers, starting with a swimming skill of 125. A Froglok can become a Cleric, Paladin, Shaman, Warrior, or a Wizard. After the retaking of Grobb, they finally acknowledge their inherently evil nature, and began to admit to the Necromancer, Rogue, and Shadow Knight members of their society.
