Overview[]

Factions are "groups" of NPCs (non-player characters) that players can interact with, either positively or negatively. Often, these factions are considered "good" or "evil." Standing with every faction is associated with a numerical value that is hidden from the player. You can your standing with the various factions by using the /faction command. Standings determine how NPCs from different factions will react to the player:

  • Ally (1051-2000): NPCs will be very friendly and offer the best prices.
  • Warmly (701-1050): NPCs are friendly and offer good prices.
  • Kindly (451-700): NPCs are neutral and offer average prices.
  • Amiable (51-450): NPCs are indifferent and offer standard prices.
  • Indifferent (-49 to 50): NPCs are neutral but may offer better prices.
  • Apprehensive (-50 to -449): NPCs are cautious but will still interact with the player.
  • Dubious (-450 to -699): NPCs are suspicious and may not offer the best prices.
  • Threatening (-700 to -1049): NPCs are hostile and may attack on sight.
  • Scowls (-1050 to -2000): NPCs are very hostile and will attack immediately.

Players can improve their faction standings by completing quests or killing specific mobs. Each action will either positively or negatively affect the player's standing with various factions. Nearly all non-animal NPCs will provide both negative and positive faction changes when killed
